Primary colours are definately one of the most common colour combinations that can be found. The combination of blue, red and yellow in various applications can have various meanings depending on how it is applied. For the most part, the combination of the primary colours seems to symbolise or connote equality. Brands such as Weetbix and Easy Mac use primary colours throughout their branding to reflect this feel. In these packaging situations, the primary combination seems to suggest affordability aswell. Super heros such as Wonder Woman and Super Man also use these colour in their attire for the same reasons.
Another common place to find primary colour combinations is in childrens toys and characters. When used in these circumstances ( such as Thomas the Tank Engine and Bananas in Pyjamas) the colours together have a friendly and childish feel. When combined for childrens applications, more equal proportions of the colours tend to be used. When used in more sophisticated appliations such as fashion, the colours are used together in varied proportions.
